On 34 tracks across two volumes and two accompanying books, the compilation documents some of the musical, socioeconomic, and political trends that shaped Nigerian Afrorock. The information about the bands and artists in the Nigerian rock scene was wonderful, but at times I felt like it tried to paint the Nigerian culture with a broad brush and that there were over simplistic characterizations of fans of music that wasn't rock music.
